The much awaited film, “jOBS,” starring Ashton Kutcher as the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, will be released in April, Open Road Films and Five Star Feature films announced Thursday.

The release will come after “jOBS” premieres at the Sundance Film Festival this month as the closing film.

The movie follows Job’s life from a college dropout to co-founder of Apple Inc.  It includes major moments in his life from 1971 through 2000. While specific details of the film remain under wraps, it’s common knowledge that Jobs led an adventurous life before he became one of corporate America’s most prominent leaders.

Long before he helped create Apple, Jobs experimented with LSD while still a student at Reed College, became a devout Buddhist practitioner, and trekked through India. You can read all this and more in the biography written by Walter Isaacson.

The film, “jOBS,” is directed by Joshua Michael Stern, written by Matthew Whitely and produced by Mark Hulme. It also stars Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.

If you haven’t read the biography yet, you should definitely grab a copy immediately. It is a must read.
